What’s a Ceramic Coating?

Ceramic coating is still a relatively new trend in the car world, but it has become more popular over the last few years thanks to the number of benefits it offers. When cured, this technology will transform itself on the surface to a permanent, durable yet flexible glass shield. This durable form of protection goes beyond just protecting a vehicles paint and can be applied on wheels and your interior!

At one point in time, a paste wax was the top shelf choice to enhance your vehicle’s shine while also protecting your paint from external elements like rain, road grime, pollen, bird poo, dirt, etc…

Fast forward 20 years, a bunch of scientists work their magic in a lab, and we now have a far more durable and superior form of protection: ceramic coatings.

Unlike Mr. Miyagi, this is not a “wax-on-wax-off” application. The ceramic coating is a semi-permanent liquid layer that bonds to the vehicles surface. It is commonly referred to as a “sacrificial” layer of protection as it’ll absorb the weather elements like rain, dirt, and snow to better protect the paint underneath.

As an analogy: The wax is like a tent protecting you in a forest. The ceramic coating is like a brick house in the forest. Both offer protection from rain and dust, but one is nothing like the other.

Semi - Permanent Interior Protection

Leather & Vinyl

Our Leather Coating creates a hydrophobic coating to protect coated leather and vinyl surfaces from premature aging, cracking and other damage such as color transfer and staining.  Our Leather Coating is manufactured using a hybrid ceramic and acrylic resins that allows a strong, flexible coating for these softer surfaces with complete protection from UV damage. This product produces the most durable protection that lasts up to 12 months or more.

Our Leather Coating is resistant to chemicals providing multi-year protection which is unheard of for leather coatings. It contains special matting agents to maintain the original factory appearance of the surfaces it is applied to.

Fabric

Our Fabric Coating creates a super hydrophobic coating to protect fabric seats, carpets, fabric convertible tops and other textile surfaces. When liquids come in contact with our Fabric Coating, the surface repels the substance and liquids roll off without penetrating or staining the material. Our Fabric Coating forms a strong bond with the fibers to prevent removal during cleaning. This product produces the most durable protection that lasts up to 6 months or more.

Wheel Ceramic Coating

Ceramic coating is the next big thing in wheel care, and it’s easy to see why. It is an eco-friendly process that makes your car’s rims look shiny and new while protecting them from UV rays and corrosion. Ceramic coating is a great way to protect your wheels from harmful road contaminants like water, salt, and dirt, which can cause damage to your car’s wheels. The coating is also designed to decrease the amount of brake dust left on the surface of the wheels and calipers. What allows it do this is that ceramic coatings integrate themselves by bonding the protective solution to the wheels themselves. In essence, the ceramic coating permanently becomes part of the wheels, filling in micropores that trap corrosive debris.

The Benefits of a Ceramic Coating

There are a lot of coating companies that make some pretty big claims of what it can do. Although there’s some truth to the claims, we don’t like to oversell the capabilities of it. So here are some benefits you actually get with a coating when you apply it on your vehicles paint, wheels or interior:

Vehicles Paint

  • Produces the most durable protection that lasts up to 2 years

  • You only need to apply it once (and, not constantly like a wax or sealant)

  • Creates a deep level of gloss that’s incomparable to other forms of protection like wax or sealant

  • Provides unmatched hydrophobic properties that keeps your car cleaner and less maintenance

  • Protects it from rain, dirt, bird poo, tree sap, UV rays & much more.......

  • Good investment as it will help retain vehicles value

  • Scuff & mark resistance

Wheels

  • Produces the most durable protection on your wheels that lasts up to 2 years

  • Provides unmatched hydrophobic properties which allows it to maintain a clean, shiny appearance

  • Protects it from dirt, grime, brake dust buildup

  • Reduces the time spent cleaning the wheels

  • Increases the durability and slickness

  • Good investment as it will help retain the wheels look longer

Interior

  • Produces the most durable protection that lasts up to 1 year

  • Reduces wear through UV rays, normal wear & tear, staining, and aging

  • Provides unmatched hydrophobic properties to repel spills & keeps car cleaner

  • Protects it from buildup up of dirt, grime, stains, spills & suntan lotion marks

  • Reduces scuff & marks from becoming permanent

  • Good for leather, upholstery, plastic, vinyl and other types of interiors

  • Good investment as it will help retain vehicles interior look & overall value

Common Myths About Ceramic Coatings

Too many times we see customers overthink the protection aspect of the coating. Yes, coatings are long-lasting and durable, but that doesn’t mean you can do whatever you want with your vehicle and think the coating will protect it. It has its limitations and it’s important to understand the limitations of what the ceramic coating can handle.

Vehicles Paint

  • The coating will make your paint scratch-proof

  • Requires zero maintenance

  • Ceramic coatings will protect your car from rock chips

  • Ceramic coatings are for people who don't maintain their cars

  • Ceramic coatings are permanent

  • Cannot be harmed by chemicals

Wheels

  • The coating will make your wheels scratch-proof

  • Requires zero maintenance

  • Ceramic coatings are permanent

  • Cannot be harmed by chemicals

Interior â€‹

  • You only need to apply it once

  • Can be applied to any type of leather, plastic or vinyl surface

  • Will repel any sort of spill

  • Avoid any stain from occurring

  • Scratch-resistant

Whether its for the vehicles paint, wheels or interior the coating requires maintenance to prolong the durability. Just like many other things in life, if you don’t care for the coating, it will degrade overtime and not last it’s intended lifespan. A coating can start to break down if not cared for properly.
